The estate was a two bedroom, double brick cottage with no direct access to the garden and insufficient head height for the garage below. The brief specified a creation of a house that connected to the garden at the rear and to maximise Northern sun exposure. A double garage was included to provide off street parking. The design enabled the existing house to be jacked up and a new ground floor designed with an internal north facing courtyard on the side of the house. |
